I am leading two seminars on opinion writing. This one is titled "The Importance of Opinion Writing" and it will focus on writing op-eds as well as writing compelling short memoirs. Writing about events in your life is a powerful storytelling tool and we will drill down on how to do that effectively. I will also discuss why opinion writing matters.

This interactive session will focus on the social and psychological dynamics of public communication. Journalists are often taught to “follow the story”—but which story? This session will provide insights into how “the news” can compete in an era of highly segmented audiences and customized communications channels.
