About me
Eva has worked as a journalist for more than a decade, with Canadian and international media outlets such as The Times (UK), the BBC, The Globe and Mail, National Post and the CBC, among others.
She is a journalism instructor at Mohawk College, where she teaches media entrepreneurship and diversity in journalism. She was the managing editor of the award-winning foreign affairs site OpenCanada.org, from 2014 until early 2020. She is also author of Latin Americans Thought Of It, a non-fiction, educational book for children; former editor of Chile’s english-language newspaper, The Santiago Times; former columns editor with This Magazine; a communications officer for Athletes for Africa; a trainer with Journalists for Human Rights; and reporter with the Globe and Mail Vancouver bureau. Past assignments have taken her from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside to New Delhi to West Africa, covering human rights, small business, political reform, and everything in between.
Eva holds an MA with McMaster University’s Institute on Globalization and a Bachelor of Journalism from X University in Toronto. She is also a board member of Cycle Hamilton.
